This is how I think one must spend a nice weekend. Chill in the grass, nice breeze blowing, cuppa tea, just toasty sun peeking through the trees and a super book in hand. But well, I can never totally concentrate on the book in such experiences, so I balance between reading and faffing. Here is a picture of when I faffed.
The 'green space' we all imagine as urban planners (in a drawing with a green patch, duh) is exactly what this place near our house is... that I like to go to. It is an unimaginative patch of green, with some mounds, strange patterns of trees, an empty parking lot behind it (that doubles up as the first make-out spot in this country that I discovered, woo hoo!) and a fenced off region in the middle which is a football ground, I believe. But despite its lack of 'design', I appreciate the fact that it is green, has a few benches, and is near home. I do try to get us outdoors sometimes and this place is the first suspect. Like 2 months ago when we felt fat and needed to jog. And one of these (two) cold, jogging days, a certain SOMEONE had to pee much too badly for his own good. So for the first time in his life, he whipped it out near a tree in the dark, with me hovering around pretending to exercise (also his free arm doing the hand movements of jumping jacks), in the city of Abu Dhabi!
We haven't jogged since.
And then I had to pee so I ran home after reading a few chapters.
